Description
melodic and influenced by 90s emotional Hardcore vs rough and melodic Post Hardcore
listen:
ZilpZalp from Dortmund, Germany present a slightly different approach to Post Hardcore and Screamo. Still melodic and influenced by 90s emotional Hardcore, ZilpZalp are focusing on piano-like guitar licks for decorating their intense soundscape. Tempo- and intensity-wise the band covers a broad spectrum from melodic parts with spoken lyrics over halting Hardcore passages up to high-speed metallic attacks.
With some similarity to the band Egozid ZilpZalp present a powerful and sophisticated version of melancholic Hardcore. Like Probably Not their music is deeply emotional and highly empowering.
Probably Not from Exeter, England play rough and melodic Post Hardcore. Hoarse screams and arraining vocals are accompanied by a raw and emotional soundscape. Rhythms and riffing are highly versatile and create a shaking feeling by their twitchy dynamics. Altogether the beats in combination with the rough sound of guitar and bass remind of stormy weather on the open sea.
Not only fans of acts such as Palm Reader or Hang the Bastard will love this side. Screamo and Post Hardcore merge perfectly on Probably Not’s “More Than Skin”.
