“readers ReaDers” is a zine born from a personal love for hardcore, emo, and DIY punk and includes a compilation CD of acoustic music featuring The Van Pelt, Shonen Bat, Amid the Old Wounds and many others. Japan import, released by Soul Ameria Records

Launched as an homage to those zines that evoke of the feeling that “music is playing in a distant city.”
Issue #1 is a 24-page pilot edition.
Features an interview with The Van Pelt (NY), a column by Kusama Tomoya of Niigata’s Oterano Project, and a column by Hatate Keishi of the Hokkaido/Muroran screamo band “Nakan.” It includes a post-tour record of Spain’s Shonen Bat’s 2024 Japan tour, reviews of 40 personal favorite albums from the 90s onwards, and illustrations documenting Ryan Lewis’s time in Japan.
It comes with a compilation CD featuring bands and artists active both domestically and internationally. The Van Pelt section includes rough recordings featuring drummer Neil and Chris, plus the adorable voice of Chris’s beloved daughter. Features solo work by Ami Sato (vocalist of Sapporo’s Plop!), Sawayan from You Said Something, Tokyo singer-songwriters Comic Up and Takujirosadae, Spain’s Shonen Bat, Jorge’s acoustic project Anime Rooms (a member of Shonen Bat), and Amid The Old Wounds by the owner of Germany’s Time As A Color. 8 bands, 13 tracks.
